"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together" - Marilyn Monroe

Food For Thought:: Homemade Fried Doughnut Holes♥

I was a little bored 2day, so I decided to make some homemade doughnuts. This w as my first time making these and they came out okay. Its really simple to make. I got the recipe from cook.com. Here’s the ingredients you’ll need.

1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
1 egg
2 tbsp. melted vegetable shortening
1 1/2 c. flour
2 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Cooking Oil for deep frying

First you just mix all the ingredients together. Heat your oil. You need to make sure it’s hot enough or they will come out greasy.

Once the oil is hot enough, you should start adding the mixture in the pot of oil. You should add spoonfuls one at a time.

They will cook pretty fast, so you need to watch closely to their color. Once they start to turn brown, you should take them out and place them on a paper towel to drain the excess oil.

You can cover them will cinnamon sugar, or just plain sugar. I used confectioners’ sugar. They are better if eaten right after cooking. ENJOY!

  1. They look great! Who knew to use cookie dough. Next time, try Biscuit Dough that come in a can, sprinkle sugar on them, they are so good. Taste like funnel cake or chinese donuts.
