"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together" - Marilyn Monroe

Food 4 Thought: Yummy Sour Cream Pound Cake

One of my favorite things that I absolutely love to do is bake, especially for others!! Its like therapy for me. It was like 12 midnight and i just was having one of the nights so I decided 2 make a cake, LOL This Cake is delicious and super easy 2 make. Enjoy!

Ingredients

3 Cups of Sugar
2 sticks of Butter (1 Cup)
1 Cup of Sour Cream
3 Cups of All Purpose Flour or Cake Flour
1/2 teaspoon of Baking Soda
6 Eggs
1 teaspoon of Vanilla

First you'll need to preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. You'll also need a bundt pan that needs to be greased and lightly floured. Try to have either toothpicks or wooden skewers on hand.

In a large bowl, you'll need to cream the butter and sugar together. It's easier to mix if you let your butter get a little soft. Add the sour cream into the mixture and mix it together.

Next you'll need a sifter. If you don't have one, you can purchase it at Walmart. It's really simple to use. You'll need to sift together the flour and the baking soda.

Next you will need to add each egg, beating each egg one at a time to cream mixture alternating with the flour.

Once you are done mixing the eggs and flour, add the vanilla, then pour it into the pan that you greased and lightly dusted with flour. Stick it in the oven

It takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes to bake, depending on your oven. If you think its done, you can check by inserting the skewer. If it comes out with wet batter or a lot of crumbs it may need 2 cook a little bit more...Happy Baking♥♥♥♥

1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
1 egg
2 tbsp. melted vegetable shortening
1 1/2 c. flour
2 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Cooking Oil for deep frying

First you just mix all the ingredients together. Heat your oil. You need to make sure it’s hot enough or they will come out greasy.

Once the oil is hot enough, you should start adding the mixture in the pot of oil. You should add spoonfuls one at a time.

They will cook pretty fast, so you need to watch closely to their color. Once they start to turn brown, you should take them out and place them on a paper towel to drain the excess oil.

You can cover them will cinnamon sugar, or just plain sugar. I used confectioners’ sugar. They are better if eaten right after cooking. ENJOY!
